Asparagus takes 2-3 years to get established before it really starts producing. We will likely get 1-2 weeks of light production next year and should be in more full production by 2022, for wholesale and retail. Looking forward to learning more about it and eating more of it too!

We planted our first asparagus in the spring of 2020 and will be planting more this season. Asparagus takes a few years to start producing well, so we do not anticipate starting to wholesale it till 2022. The type of asparagus we have planted is Millennium, a variety developed at the University of Guelph. It is known for its cold tolerance, productivity, stem length and colour.
